Position Title: Journalist II

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Journalist II to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for journalism, an eye for detail, and the ability to produce engaging and accurate content in a fast-paced environment. As a Journalist II, you will be responsible for covering a wide range of topics, including current events, politics, sports, entertainment, and technology, ensuring our audience receives timely and relevant news updates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, write, and edit high-quality news articles, features, and reports.
Stay updated on current events and trending topics to ensure timely and relevant news coverage.
To write News, stories, features and commentaries
To check accuracy and facts
To translate stories, features and commentaries
To determine a story’s emphasis, length, and format, and organizes material accordingly.
To research and analyze background information related to stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information
To receive assignments or evaluate leads and tips in order to develop story ideas
To perform any other duties related to the field as assigned by the supervisors.

Qualifications:

Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
Proven experience as a news writer, journalist, or similar role.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong understanding of journalistic principles, ethics, and standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and SEO tools.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with social media platforms and audience engagement strategies.
