Job Purpose
The main responsibility of the Relationship Manager Mining, Oil & Gas is to manage the end-to-end relationships of key stakeholders in the sector for the purpose of onboarding more customers and retaining the existing portfolio by ensuring provision of tailor-made solutions which carters for customer’s needs.
Principle Responsibilities
- To Drive client acquisition by Identifying and developing a target pipeline and aggressively market for new profitable customers from the identified target sectors and exploit cross-selling opportunities in the overall value chain.
- To Conduct business/sales discussions and negotiations to generate relevant business with stakeholders and prepare business proposals for decision-making to the relevant committees.
- To grow and maintain a high quality of the asset book, ensure excellent performance and maximum returns of the portfolio by developing a prudent asset and cost-effective long-term liabilities to ensure client profitability, sustainability, increased revenue, and reduced risk.
- To grow respective sector portfolios, focus on senior mining companies/tier 1 mining companies and gas companies focusing on transactional business to drive deposits in both local and foreign currency.
- To build and maintain positive relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for business growth, and resolving customer complaints that ensure the delivery of profitable bank products and services.
- Responsible for growing the Bank’s ecosystem in the mining and gas sub-sectors by linking key projects to Government ministries, financiers, contractors, suppliers, and export credit agencies.
- Preparing in-depth analyses of clients’ strategies, business financial performances, industry outlook, and general macroeconomic trends in Tanzania and regional geographies for the benefit of both internal and external stakeholders of the Bank.
- Any other assignments by the Director of Corporate Banking
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in the related field i.e. Finance, Accounting, Banking, economics, or direct appointment will be made from a candidate who is a holder of a first degree in commerce/business related from any recognized University or its equivalent qualifications.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Corporate Banking, Insurance or Investment Banking with a commercial lending background
- Analytical skills assessing financial and deal information to determine optimal financing solutions.
- Good understanding of loan markets, credit and delinquent loans turnaround strategies and general market trends, as well as associated legal documentation.
- Knowledge of the loan restructuring, loan collection, challenges and opportunities facing businesses within the sector.
- Organizational, strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact professionally with directors, managers, and clients.
- Presentation preparation and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, internally and externally.
