Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Development of Product Strategy
  • Develop & assess progress against KPIs and product performance metrics, including analysis of past performance.
  • Manage the product working group including roadmap, prioritization, defining resource requirements and stakeholders to ensure buy in across the business.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure Chomoka’s product and systems can support and adapt to plans for scaling within existing markets and into new markets o Assess technology solutions and in-person training trade-offs.
  • Product strategy and vision implementation
  • Support team and partners to sell and implement our products.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, implementation support, and customer success to build knowledge and capacity to sell and implement our products.
  • Engage with partners and create a framework to scale collaborations and build effective feedback loops within each partnership.
  • Assess technology solutions and in-person training trade-offs as they relate to product sales and distribution in existing and new market
  • Management of Chomoka core team, product team & Care Office relations
  • Establish & strengthen our product development practices for scale and team growth.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with Mobile Network Operators and financial institutions to build links, driving financial inclusion for informal savings groups members.
  • Provide direction for Chomoka Core Team based in Dar es Salaam, comprised of Training, Local Business Development, Marketplace and Customer Support Functions.
  • Nurture relationship with TZ Country Office, ensuring alignment with CO strategy.
  • Business Development & Operations Management
  • Work with Chomoka Global Team to develop marketing and pricing collateral / communications plan /and social media presence for each country and the wider universe Chomoka inhabits, raising our profile when we deem it appropriate.
  • Monitor Chomoka implementations and surface issues, providing Technical Assistance and Best Practice guidance as required.
  • Lead implementation of Chomoka after-sales and expansion activities with key stakeholders.
  • Pursue business development opportunities

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, marketing or related degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with informal savings groups in developing country contexts preferably in Sub- Saharan Africa.
  • Experience leading implementations of mobile money, digital savings applications, digital literacy initiatives
  • Experience working with iNGOs, Financial Service Providers (Microfinace Institutions, Commercial Banks) and/or FinTechs focused on rural/ under served populations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Exposure to design and build process of technology solutions and M&E or customer feedback mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience applying human-centered design (HCD) practices to the product development life cycle.
  • Successful track record identifying, negotiating service contracts with, and managing technology service providers.
  • Prior experience setting strategic direction for products tailored to / designed for informal savings groups, with demonstrated awareness of past efforts in this space.
