Deadline: 22-Apr-22
Ignite Philanthropy: Inspiring the End to Violence Against Girls and Boys is launching a call for proposals for evidence-based advocacy interventions in the area of child sexual abuse (CSA).
Funding will be provided to successful applicants for implementation of advocacy and policy-influencing initiatives that will contribute to translating the Out of the Shadows Index (OOS) findings into concrete action at national, regional and global levels. Grantee partners will be given support to advance initiatives that aim to advocate for change in specific policy and legislative areas.
Purposes
- The purpose of the OSS advocacy grants initiative is to support civil society in their advocacy efforts to change policy and enable systemic change in how countries address child sexual abuse and exploitation. Country data is currently being collected and the Index is likely to be released in July 2022. Further regional releases are planned to be launched between July and the end of the 2022.
- They are specifically interested in proposals that put forward concrete plans to anchor the regional launch of one of the 5 regional reports that will be produced: Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA), High Income Economies (HIE), Latin America, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
Funding Information
- A total of USD700,000 is available for this purpose. Grants in the range of USD10,000 to a maximum of USD70,000 per organisation will be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals should be around specific advocacy actions that use the Index data and other CSA-related data to drive systemic change in CSA policy and governance.
- Concrete advocacy plans that support regional launches in one of the following regions: Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA), High Income Economies (HIE), Latin America, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

- Applicants must be civil society organizations/ coalitions, including NGOs, rights groups, trade unions, youth movements and survivor groups.
- Applicants must have demonstrable experience of rights-driven advocacy work, namely in the area of children’s rights, and the OOS advocacy grants initiative is open to considering constituencies who do not work exclusively or directly on CSA issues.
